Winter 2023 on The Farm
6th June 2023
Winter has arrived and the fires are stoked. We are seeing frosts, nice days and cold nights. All animals on the farm are happy and healthy with impressive weight gains. We have decided to keep our large mob of PTIC trade baldy heifers and calve them out, they are due next week. We are also running Charolais/Murray grey yearling heifers and angus steer to fatten.
With the addition of our biological products during Autumn, we are continuing to see the benefits of our efforts. We have high quality pastures on the 1st day of winter.
Our feed budget for the winter is happening as expected. We will make it through the winter with feed to spare. The weather predictions aren’t great for the future seasons, so we will access as we go.
