About Us

Jason and Naomi Simmons are a husband and wife team, owners of The Overseer Saddlery. We manufacture saddles and saddlery. We have two adult sons, Jack is a stock and station agent and Edward is a electrician. Both men are a huge part of the agricultural plan. Our property, "The Gums" is located south-east of Armidale and sits 1050m above sea level in the heart of the New England, NSW.

Jason started his apprenticeship in 1986 and then established The Overseer Saddlery in 1990. Naomi joined Jason in 1996 at the saddlery with eight years experience in retail. Together, the business grew to where it is today.

In recent years, Jason's passion for healthy soils has taken us on a journey to manage our own farm for healthier outcomes for livestock, soils and humans. Jason has studied with world leaders in soil chemistry, biology, hydrology and energies. Jason now consults with interested farmers in soil balancing and animal health. 

Our working interests now include The Overseer Saddlery; a commercial Angus cow operation at "The Gums"; soil consulting; and the management of other local properties.
