Winter Horse Rug

At the Overseer Saddlery we take great pride in designing and manufacturing our own horse rugs. We source the best materials to make you a product that is both durable and tough; that will last beyond your expectations. It is well-shaped so it fits squarely on your horse, the contour line in the centre of our rugs is unique to The Overseer Saddlery. This unique design has proven its worth for 30 years.

Canvas: Heavy-weight 18 oz / 610 gsm cotton blend canvas incorporating a strong engineered ripstop construction. The canvas guarantees comfort and provides a strong, durable, waterproof and breathable fabric. The drop on The Overseer rugs is a very generous 100cm / 40 inches.

Lining: Made from heavy wool blanketing. Being a natural fibre, it will breath while staying soft on the horse. The drop of the woollen lining is 90cm / 35 inches.

Shoulders: Overseer Rugs are lined with a hard-wearing, silky nylon to reduce hair loss on the points of the horse's shoulder.

Fittings are of leather construction, positioned perfectly to balance the rug squarely. We use heavy-duty dees and buckles and the leg straps are of 1 inch PVC strapping for ease of use and durability. Leather leg straps are also available on request.

To determine correct size: Measure your horse from the centre of the chest horizontally to the furthest point on the rump. Please do not assume your last rug measurement is correct as lesser quality rugs have shrinkage of up to 6 inches. 

The Overseer Horse rugs are made in standard measurements of  5'9" / 6' / 6'3" / 6'6". Rugs can be made to your measurements if required.
